Map Layers

The map layers controls are found in the left navigation column on some pages. You can select different base and data layer overlays to view combinations of data.

Base Layers

We have selected three Google base layers for this interactive map. Base layers are mutually exclusive and can be changed by selecting the radio button for each layer.

  • Google Maps Normal presents an outline map of the campus.
  • Google Maps Satellite presents a satellite image of the campus.
  • Google Maps Hybrid presents a satellite image of the campus with additional location information for buildings and roads.

Data Layers

Data layers are overlays of information that are the results of queries of the map database. Data layers are not mutually exclusive and can be shown in the map by selecting the checkbox next to the layer name. Data layers can be hidden by unchecking individual layers.

Map controls are displayed within the map view port.
