Resources for Web Administrators

The UCSC Office of Planning and Analysis manages the maps found on this web site. This includes updating them at least twice a year, and creating new maps when needed. In order for internet users to have access to the most current maps available, it is important that campus web sites direct users to maps.ucsc.edu for maps, rather than have a static copy of a map on the web site.

UCSC Departmental Guidelines for Linking to Maps on This Web Site

To direct your web users to the most current version of a campus map:

1. Find the web address (or URL) for the map you need.

• Directions to the campus from the greater Bay Area are available at http://maps.ucsc.edu/cmdirections.html;

• One-page PDFs of the most commonly visited campus buildings (including close-up maps and information about parking) are available at http://maps.ucsc.edu/cdcommon.html;

• Detailed maps of the colleges are located at http://maps.ucsc.edu/cdcommon.html;

• Close-up maps of individual buildings can be found by either clicking on the main campus map (http://maps.ucsc.edu), or by using the A-Z Index.
2. Code your HTML to open the appropriate URL in a new browser window.

For UCSC organizations only, please download the Single Use Permission Slip, fill it out, and send to Susan Willats at BAS Office of Planning and Analysis or fax to 459-5525.
