NOTE: McHenry Library is currently undergoing a multi-year expansion and remodel project. The construction has changed normal access points to the facility. Please read the following information carefully. Those arriving by Metro bus can either walk from the Cowell bus stop, or transfer to a campus shuttle at the Quarry Plaza, just across the street from that stop. The closest parking available during the expansion project is at Hahn Student Services. Both metered and permit parking is available in the Hahn lot, and a pedestrian bridge leads to the main library entrance. There are two accessible parking spaces on the north side of McHenry Library; from Hagar Drive, turn left onto Steinhart and continue until Steinhart turns sharply right. The library is located at that turn, and the accessible parking spaces are located in front of the building. There are also four “medical” spaces located in that same vicinity. These spaces are reserved for those with DMV placards (or UCSC “H” permits), but who do not require the extra width of standard accessible parking spaces. Parking permits are required in most lots on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Lot designations are subject to change; it is advisable to check the permit requirements posted at parking lot entrances when parking on campus. One-day visitor permits may be purchased at the main entrance Kiosk, or at the TAPS Sales Office located in the H Barn at the base of campus. Parking meters are posted regarding hours of enforcement.
